In response to a recently screened BBC Panorama programme Residential Landlords’ Association (RLA) Chairman, Alan Ward wrote a letter to challenge what in his view were major misconceptions within the show.

The BBC Panorama titled ‘The Great Housing Benefit Scandal’ aired in April, and despite previous assurances from the Editor to the RLA that a landlord representative would be heard on future editions featuring housing, landlords were again depicted very negatively.

The RLA was disappointed that the Panorama and the BBC decided “once again to ignore the views of those bodies representing the vast majority of responsible landlords providing decent accommodation for their tenants.”
